Three Hotspots in Dumai

DUMAI - At least three hotspots are known to exist in Dumai in the past two days. It is estimated that these fires cause smog shrouded Dumai City since last Sunday.

Head of Unit Dumai City Forest Police, Tengku Ismet, who was contacted on Tuesday (27/8/203), confirming the presence of hotspots. "Three hotspots that are in Mundam, Bangsal Aceh and Batu Teritip," he explained.

According to Ismet, officers Polhut Regional Disaster Management Agency has come down to the field to tackle the fire is more widespread. "It is expected that this officer could localize the fire and not widespread. They are trying to do the blackout," he said.

Three hotspots were found in the Village Mundam, Kampai Medang District, Bangsal Aceh and Batu Teritip, Sungai Sembilan District. Land in this area is often burned. Deliberately burned to clear land for plantations.
